Portable electrical equipment

Strictly speaking, the test of portable electrical equipment constitutes a repetition test according to the German Institute for Standardization (VDE 0701-0702). Initially the device was checked by the manufacturer (German Institute for Standardization / VDE 0701-0702) often only at random.

Procedure of test:

  1. Visual inspection for damages, defects and the suitability for the site of operation, etc. Definition of the applied protective measures and therefore definition of the necessary test steps.

  2. Proof of the low-resistance of the protection conductor; provided it is available.

  3. Isolation measurement; provided that is technically possibly.

  4. After the passed isolation measurement follows the measurement of the protection conductor current and / or the leakage current with the direct measuring procedure.

  5. If the measurement of the insulation resistance is technically not possible, then with devices of the protection class I, the protection conductor current and with devices of the protection classes I as well as II, at touchable, conductible parts which are not connected with the protection conductor, the leaking current, is measured.

  6. Actual electric ratings are collected by measurement.

  7. After a final functional check, a test badge is generated and fixed to the case.
Test badge with product code to locate the test report / device history in the test reports data base.
